I was labouring under the illusion that the experian credit score would be an accurate reflection of a credit report and my credit report but clearly I'm mistaken.

Your payment plan and arrears would be a possible reason for a lender to reduce their risk in lending to you.  But just as your score is not related to your credit worthiness, the BG trust isn't related to other lenders decisions.

That may well be the case but it doesn't explain why the limit with my other CC wasn't affected at all.

Yes it does.

All lenders have different risk criteria. They don't act en masse as you believe.
