  • That's good you got a better price with a different provider. I did my first 7.5 this week and the side effects are awful. Not sure i can keep going even this pen I've started. Feels like such a waste but the nausea and acid reflux are unreal.

I now have carrots, parsnips, potatoes, a swede and a bag of sprouts for the grand sum of 75p thanks to a quick dash to Sainsbos. If only they were that price all year round.
I know a few people who stock up, prep and freeze while the veg is this cheap each year
That's an excellent idea jackieblack. I was thinking of making loads of soup and freezing that, but unfortunately I don't have the freezer space for it.

Sorry to hear you're suffering, Sarahwithlove. I was getting the acid reflux when I first started on 7.5mg but it soon wore off. I found peppermint tea helped massively and avoiding acidic foods, although I had some pastry on a pub meal pie at the weekend and the heartburn after that was awful, but then pie/pastry is not the best thing to eat to be losing weight anyway I suppose! It was a one off meal out though and I definitely ate too much which played havoc with me for days. I've started taking a magnesium supplement in the evenings after it was recommended by several people on another forum and that has helped hugely with the side effects I was getting.

I've tackled a DIY job this afternoon that I haven't got round to doing despite buying the materials in. I had a new front door installed a couple of years ago and it looked lovely, but the flippin' crows kept pulling out long strips of the silicone sealant and pecking at it. Apparently there's linseed oil in some of it which they are attracted to. I would open my door to long white lengths of the silicone on my door mat like big white worms! The resulting issue was that water was seeping through the now unsealed bit and has damage the hall carpet around the door. Unfortunately, my hall floor is not even enough to have tiles or wood flooring without being dug out and levelled which I'm not even contemplating anymore.  The adjoining floor levels would make his difficult too and I'd definitely need to get a DPC put in as it turns out that part of the house doesn't have one... Oh, the joy of old houses. :s Anyway, I bought some so-called-clear sealant without linseed oil in which was recommended for the job and... it turns out when they say 'clear' what they really mean is 'a see through light blue,' so I now have a lovely white surround to my door with blue lines of sealant all around it.  :s:s Oh well, at least it's now watertight. I hope. Luckily the door is also blue, so it looks like I have some weird ideas about colour co-ordination. I'm past caring now though!

I've prepped all the veg for tea tonight and will be roasting it all in a tray and then popping the salmon on top to cook through. We'll also be having a few of the 15p sprouts with some chestnuts bought as a YS reduction last week and cooked in the air fryer. It's all a bit of a mix but sounds yummy and I'm looking forward to it!

  • Cuddles with your boy sound lovely, what a great start to the day ❤️

I’ve been avoiding the supermarket but will pop this weekend to get some veg. My fridge and freezer are bare so will batch cook some soups, cheap nutritious and filling! Tea tonight sounds lovely, I love salmon. They’ve got some on offer in Morrisons I might pick up next week and freeze.

What a pain about your door seal, but good you’ve got it sorted, I bet it’s one of those things that you’ll not even notice in a day or two. I had a new front door, I nearly went for blue but decided on black as part of the porch is black and I wanted it to match. Have a lovely evening x

I’m feeling really low today. DS made a hurtful comment as soon as he stepped in the door from his father’s this morning and also shared that this comment had been broadcast around the ex’s family and partner’s family. I don’t think he meant to be mean but it really upset me and I’m afraid I’d just had enough and I cried. I then had to deal with triggering behaviour from his father which brought back so many anxieties and horrible feelings I’ve tried so hard to put away. It has set me off balance the whole day and I’ve been upset all day.

DS has wanted to do his own thing for most of the day too so it’s been another lonely one. I feel like I’m losing more and more of the lovely relationship Das and I have always had. It feels like my heart is broken on a daily basis presently.
I actually had the day booked off to do something nice with DS, but he wasn’t interested in going anywhere or doing anything, so I cancelled my day off and worked. I may as well save the day of annual leave as I don’t have much left.

I managed to get a dr’s appointment today as I’ve not been well for the past 10 days or so. I’ve been prescribed some tablets for a month so hopefully that will ease symptoms.

DS is being picked up tomorrow morning and won’t be back until Christmas Day evening. If I could just sleep through Christmas and wake up in January, then I would.

  • Oh I’m so sorry to read this, it sounds like a really awful day and so hard for you. I’ve no kids, so no words of wisdom but just wanted to send you a big hug and say I’m thinking of you xx

Always remember that children rarely learn how to be really unpleasant to others without someone showing them how to do it & wanting them to do it.  Please try not to give the reaction the ex is seeking.  A schoolfriend of my DS, his father taught him to give V signs to his mother's back.  He thought it was clever.
  • Just wanted to pop on and say I'm thinking about you, hope you are doing okay and finding some joy in the day. Sending love and hugs xx
