Separate OTP related contact details when using First Direct debit card for online payment?

I just tried to use my First Direct debit card (the newish Mastercard) for an online payment (to buy NS&I premium bonds), but I ended up with a message that "they" (i.e. FD) don't have contact details to send me my OTP. When I check my mobile banking profile, my email address and mobile number are both there. Is there a separate set of contact details I need to register just for the OTP? If so, can I do this myself or do I need to call them?

    I called them, they couldn't see anything wrong their end, so they asked me to try again which I did and this time it gave me an option of either authorising through mobile app or receive an OTP, I chose the latter (just to be sure mobile number is registered correctly) and it went through this time. FD think it was probably an NS&I's website issue the first time around.

    NS&i website is pants & that is being polite. The number of times they decline transactions & then debit customer twice is a joke.
