UPGRADING HSBC BANK A/C TO ADVANCE

Does anyone know if after say 6 months HSBC will atomically upgrade your account to the Advance if you qualify. I know they used to do this. Thanks

    I think now you have to apply. They’ve removed the min payment requirement (and mixed results as to whether they still require it from comments) but I have my salary paid into my HSBC for 3-4 years and they’ve never ‘upgraded’ my account..

    Not that there seems to be many benefits to an Advance account any more anyway
