I think my 4K LG tv is about 18 months old model number 43UN73006LC but doesn’t have the FreeVee app in the store. I thought this tv with WebOS would be able to keep up to date with recent apps - apparently not.
Any ideas? Roku?
thanks

Cast from your PC/phone/tablet?
Buy a Firestick?2 -
You should be able to get to it through the Prime app.3

Actually, this LG tv doesn’t have Channel 4’s All Four either.0

What is FreeVee?I keep disabling it on my Firestick, but it keeps coming back and there us no uninstall option. Also, on all (?) LG TVs you can't 'watch live' on ITV X - why?1

I'm watching via Prime, and TBH the ads are more or less non-existent, certainly less than YouTube or ITVIf anyone was a fan, it's where Neighbours will finish up

Yes, I admit that being able to watch Neighbours was a motivating factor but I also like The Dukes of Hazzard - the latter probably very politically incorrect by current standards.
I don’t see how I can cast FreeVee via the app on my ipad as there’s no option to do it.0 -
We have been watching some old 80's TV shows and politically incorrect would be putting it mildly.
Not being able to uninstall apps is just wrong IMO. Read a while back the BBC were insisting TV manufacturers
had iPlayer installed and block users from removing it. A way to stop people without a TV licence buying
new devices or to say you have a TV with their app so you must have a licence?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -

new devices or to say you have a TV with their app so you must have a licence? The whole point of a smart TV is that you can use it to watch TV programmes on, whether its over broadcast or the iPlayer or some other streaming solution. You don't buy a massive Smart TV just to fill a hole in the corner of the room, its probably given that you're going to watch something on it.As to uninstalling apps, TVs are not the same as PCs or mobile phones, they are its own design and system. So if the option is not there, it may not feasibly be possible. And FYI you don't "need" a licence just to buy a TV.1 -
Correct you don't need one but why were the BBC pushing for them to have iPlayer pre-installed? Issue with pre-installed stuffis it gets bloated over time which could make the TV obsolete before its time.My TV had iplayer pre-installed but not Prime or several other apps that I chose to install. TV likes to update itself whenit feels like it and has a habit of moving iPlayer to the main position even though there are no login details for it.We chose to have Prime rather than the TV licence, we dont watch live TV. My TV is not reliant on having iPlayer installedbut we cannot delete it. Well I can if I trust the developer debug software I found online which can remove everything, even enough to render it a brick in the corner it seems, rather reluctant to use that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
