This one may sit at your door. The supplier should have used a M3 reading to open your account - not a reading in kWh. That said, if all previous readings were in kWh then the reading that you gave would be in line with that held on file.

If you have been providing BG with kWh readings when you were with them then you have been overcharged by a factor of c.11.22

    I'm a bit confused. You've posted 2 Octopus bills - I was expecting a BG.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Both Octopus bills but different meters.  The 'BG' meter (meter installed by BG) is clearly the bottom one.

They are Octopus bills, top electricity, bottom gas, but are for the period that covers the time when he had the old BG meters still in. Octopus swapped his meters for new ones a week after he switched.

Is it both meters that now show less usage, or just the gas or electricity? And how does your usage compare with this time last year, rather than against that one cold week. I know I have mentioned it a few times now, but it was -9c here that week, so it really would have made a difference. The weather since the end of January has been incredibly mild comparatively.

The kWh figure is for the electricity meter, is it not? It looks like he gave a reading of 19990, and they settled on 19994.9 looking at the top bill posted above. And then 10099 for the gas, from his final reading of 10084. So both numbers are pretty close to his, just need to check if BG have used the same ones to close of his account with them?
