Problems with EDF to Octopus switch

My wife's tried 3 times to switch on-line from EDF to Octopus and each time we get this error message,

Looks like there was something wrong with your submission. Please check the following errors and try again.
property - This property is already registered with us (MPAN=1100008059611).

Octopus have been emailed with this information, but they have not answered. We need to switch before 31Aug23 when our fixed tariff with EDF ends. Suggestions are welcome.
I've just learnt from the internet that there is a working relationship between EDF and Octopus via Kraken, which I don't understand, but it makes me suspicious.
One bit of Octopus owns the licence for a piece of software used to manage and control billing.  This software is called Kraken.  Lots of suppliers use it.  This is not suspicious.

Another thing that's odd is that an internet site says that MPAN number quoted above is not valid, because it hasn't enough characters and should start with a letter.
Your MPAN (as talked about in this situation) should be a 13-digit number.  The one in your post is.

Switched my gas supply from EDF to Octopus without any issues just over 2 weeks ago - EDF did not stop the switch even tho my account was nominally ~ £75 in debit at the switch date. At the same time I switched my electric supply from BG to Octopus ,again without issues altho again the account was nominally in debit.

This property is already registered with us (MPAN=1100008059611).
That means the electricity is already supplied by Octopus.
    It certainly sounds like that.

What exactly are you worried about happening when your EDF fix ends? You should just roll onto the variable tariff that the majority of UK customers are already on.

Some check sites ask for the full Supply Number:

Thanks for taking the trouble to explain about the MPAN. It was Bing that said it should be 22 characters and preceded by letter S, however, since that I've found the MPAN on page 2 of an EDF bill. These comments are all directed at side issues. The main issue is that we wanted to Switch to Octopus and it now seems that they say we are already with them. It's that that I needed help with. I can produce bills from EDF for E & G to show that they are currently our supplier and not Octopus. The comments so far have not helped. .

16Aug. We have begun a Switch to yet a different supplier that, so far, is easier to communicate with. EDF have emailed apologising  for their slowness in responding and Octopus have emailed saying that they have modified their system and we could try Switching to them again, but we will stick with the new supplier. Thanks for the various suggestions, but our new supplier is able to carry out the Switch without requiring us to do all that admin. work.

Try this. Call Octopus and ask them to send you a screenshot of the database listing for your MPAN. This will show your meter serial number along with your address.

I have just encountered the same issue trying to switch from EDF to Outfox.  EDF are clearly operating in breach of their supply licence conditions and appear to have been doing so since at least 24th February 2023.  EDF appear to be objecting to a switch based merely upon the existence of a debit balance, which most people paying on fixed monthly DD will have at this time of year just coming out of winter.  According to their supply licence condition there must be an outstanding balance defined as a payment which has remained unpaid 28 days or more since the payment request was issued in writing.  For fixed DDs the payment date is the monthly DD payment date and I've never failed to make a DD payment on this date.  Next stop energy ombudsman!.

I'd have thought the next stop would be to bring your account into credit, which would let you switch in the next few days.
Unless switching isn't your objective, and you'd rather wait several weeks for the Ombudsman to rule?
