Dog urine & faeces

Best solutions for cleaning the dog urine & faeces. Not my pet, neighbours 2 pets but we do have a shared slabbed area.
I hose every week now but I’m finding the urine is sitting in places with now a mix of water, it stinks, the slabs are green and faeces can sit anything from 1 day to 5 days.
I hate looking out the window, it’s disgusting. I’ve spoken with The landlord who rents it out but no luck.
im also thinking of asking him to foot the bill to have the yard jet washed.

I don't really know if this will help, but we use this: Elsan ORG02 Organic Toilet Fluid for Motorhomes, Green, 2 Litre : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive diluted in a watering can to get an enzyme-based agent on to the urine and spots of faeces we have on our artificial turn after we've been around and picked up after our dogs.
This could be a solution (quite literally) to your problem.
Joking aside, you should not have to share an area with dog faeces. The landlord should really evict the tenant if they will not clean up immediately after their dogs. This would be very hard on the dog owners, but they have to accept that they have rented somewhere that only has a shared outdoor area, and therefore they must make sure they pick up after their dogs every time they defacate in the shared area. The property isn't really suitable for dogs, but many dog owners stuggle to find places to rent so your neighbours may have taken the property even though they knew it wasn't really suitable. This is no excuse for fouling the shared area. They would get fined if they didn't clean up the mess in a public street, because it is a shared area!
I would contact the landlord again and ask for their support to get the tenant to do the right thing. Explain politely that if they won't help you, your only option is to go to environmental health for an enforcement notice (Let the landlord worry about what that would involve). Ask them to meet with you and their tenant, and explain what you want the tenant to do - which is to pick up the faeces immediately and water the area with the Elsan every week, at their expense. Commiserate with the neighbour because you know that it will be hard work and will cost, and ask the landlord to indicate that he agrees that they should do this, but point out that the bonus is that they and their dogs can stay in their home with a happy neighbour. If the neighbour does step up, and tries to do the right thing, praise them every so often and remind them of the benefit of having somewhere safe for their dogs to live. Perhaps buy them some Elsan every once in a while, especially if you see that they have stopped using it.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.3 -
There is no excuse for not picking up the faeces. That should be once a day at most if the dog is walked twice min. Sheesh if it's 2 not being exercised shame on them. A dog won't foul their own patch unless desperate.
You could try a diluted mix of Jeyes fluid across the slabs. If diluted shouldn't do the dogs harm and will leave a smell that deters them.
However if they have nowhere else it might not.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Thank you all for suggestions, I’m going to give them a try over the next few days. The yard is smelling terrible!!Unfortunately dogs are not walked so all their business multiple times per day/night is in the small yard.
Fingers crossed the stink will go… or at least some of it.
Still tempted to invoice the landlord!!0 -
We deal with the issue by picking up number 2s immediately, and if after picking it up a mark is left then straight away washing it off - a watering can is plenty for the purpose, no need for the hose if done straight away. We have a patch of artificial grass and spray it with diluted white vinegar if I notice the smell, then hose the patch.Gas: warm air central heating, instant water heater, Octopus tracker

If some friendly conversations with the neighbour/landlord don't come to fruition, I wonder whether the RSPCA would be interested? That really would be a last resort - you really don't want to be souring relations with the neighbour if you can possible avoid it.That aside, I concur with the advice you've already been given - and my go-to for anything like this is good old Jeyes fluid (though sadly, these it's nothing like as potent as it used to be).

Thanks. I know it's not a legal requirement to walk a dog, but I was just wondering whether not exercising them could be viewed as neglect? But you're right, I guess some dogs are perfectly happy being couch potatoes
