CASS and salary paying to old account, 2 accounts ago..

Hello,
I was recently with Virgin, (was very happy), however used CASS to move to LLOYDS. I was only with Lloyds for around 2 weeks, and didn't like some of their offerings and moved again to Starling. All with CASS.

My wages are due to be paid however to my Virgin account, this is to late to change with my employer.

I am aware CASS will move on any payments, to your new accounts, however does anyone know if it's going to be a bit of a delay for them to action this? Minutes, hours days?

Thanks
Jamie

    Sorry don't know the answer.
have hardly ever switched my main account but always a donor if wanting the switch bonus.
When I did move my account (pre CASS days!) I always notified my employer

Also always advisable these days to have a couple of accounts with different banking groups in case of IT outages.

Guess money will go to Virgin, then Lloyds, then Starling.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Can you use another account or ask a friend to send you £1 to your old Virgin account? At least then you’ll be able to see what happens, I suspect it’ll still be transferred to Starling but not sure on the timescales.

It only takes a few seconds, in my experience.

Also, your employer should receive an automated system message telling them that your account has been switched and giving them your new bank details for future use.

My understanding is that its instant. It doesn't arrive at the bank and then someone get emailed to look up where the money should go. There is a database that all the banks lookup to find where the money should go.
