Just had this stop working on me, can anyone recommend a caddy. Its from a desktop external hard drive, not quite sure what to look for. It does power up, light flashes. I need to get stuff off it. I do have most of it backed up, had planned on doing it today, of all days 🙄 thank you

Can't you open up the pc and temporarily attach the drive to the internal cables? You will probably find that the drive has died rather than the caddy.Other than that, open up a similar external drive and swap the disk over. They are pretty much similar, except Lacie- they don't use NTFS, or anything that windows will mount.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

In my experience with external drives (and their purpose built caddies) the logic board goes in the caddy and the drives are fine , especially iomega , 2 of , failed

I've never had Iomega, Seagate are always the cheapest, the drives fail first, I don't think Seagate are very good at making them.....
