multiple £1 debit card deposits into chip 3.15%

To try and satisfy TSB spend and save 20 debit card payment requirements for £5 cashback, I decided to make 15x £1 transactions using my new chip app into my newly opened  3.15% instant saver, (I have already made x5 debit card payments elsewhere this month). However when making the eleventh  £1 debit card deposit, the app popped up a message..."this is embarrassing..  to contact chiphelp". Help are off at weekends. TSB banking app shows 10 x£1 as pending. Has anyone used Chip in this way and encountered issues? What was done to resolve your issue?

Odds are the unusual activity has led to the TSB fraud team blocking the payments. I would suggest contacting TSB and asking if it’s them.
  • Or it could be chip that have flagged it up, not TSB. I have made 30 £1 debit card deposits from TSB to NS&I one after the other a few times in the past without issues. Usually after however many transactions I have to verify the payment in the app but they still go through once verified.
  • I tried again to make some debit card deposits into chip instant access 24hours apart, it seems to have taken, although still in pending status.  Let's see if all the transactions go through as I expect without any trouble.  Unsure if these will count towards the Feb debit card deposits, as they say it take 3 days-in which case I've missed out on the fiver anyway for Feb.

It's normal for debit card transactions to show up on TSB as pending for a couple of days. I still have one from two days ago.

I would avoid putting multiple transactions through to the same company, on the same day, especially for the same amount.

The last time I did it was 30 transactions a month, I had split it over a couple of credit cards. I had issues with both, when one of them wrote to me I gave up. I'm going to give 20 transactions a go, but I'll switch up my strategy.

I generally do 5 or 10 a day. Each for a different amount.

Looks like £1x15 went into Chip today  . So who can tell me when should I expect my £5 cashback in TSB spend and save?

2.3 We’ll count payments based on the date the money is taken from your account. This is usually within 5 working days from the day you make the debit card transaction, but sometimes can be longer. You can tell when money is taken from your account by looking at your transactions online or on your statement.

Cashback will be paid to your account by the 20th of the next calendar month. For example, for payments made in June 2023 cashback will be paid by 20 July 2023.

Has anyone managed to maximise Co-operative Bank Current Account with Everyday Rewards ; 2p cashback each time you use your debit card to a max of £1.20 a month ?
Those who manage to maximise £1.20 a month by 60x DC payment might be the winner of incentive hunters nowadays. :D
They used to pay 5p (?) but since they reduce it to 2p, it is no longer worthy imho. Better to focus it on TSB 20x DC payment for £5. You could get it more if you have more than one TSB S&S account.

I did at one point but then Natwest/RBS increased the limit on their monthly savers to £5k so it actually worked out better value to make £1.01 debit card payments for the round ups so I switched to doing that instead.
