Food Shortages Again

Back from a holiday Tuesday we went to the huge Tesco near us 3pm Thursday and there were virtually no eggs, just a few organic or whatever. We haven’t tried anywhere else yet, just doing without.
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

No shortage here in Lincolnshire, all the major supermarkets are fully stocked, its evaporated milk we seem to be short of here.1

We did buy two carrots (they don’t keep nowadays even in the fridge) two baby gem lettuce (but one would have been sufficient) and a leek. We looked at the swede but they were old and had been trimmed a lot.Teapot55 said:Back from a holiday Tuesday we went to the huge Tesco near us 3pm Thursday and there were virtually no eggs, just a few organic or whatever. If they want salad let them eat coleslaw or other seasonal vegetables such as leeks vinaigrette, pickled beetroot etc. Shelves of eggs appear to be stripped in minutes in the same way that toilet paper was at the start of the pandemic. Yes they are a cheap source of protein but not essential and their sales dropped considerably when there was a salmonella scare2
