Old Mortgage style loans

I have three student loans dating from 97, 98 and 99. I took these out for the same course from the Student loans Company (now sold to Erudio). I was always under the impression that these were mortgage style loans and that the debt is wiped after 25 years. I have been able to defer until now as I havent earned above the threshold amount. I am just a bit concerned as I cannot seem to find this information about the 25years anywhere now and I am starting to wonder did I dream it! Can anyone advise?
