Letter from Court - am I oblighed to find the PCN details?

I've received a Claim Form letter from the court from an incident hat happened 4 years ago!

It says "The PCN details are <date> <long number>" and then goes on to make some claims about things.

Am I obliged to seek out these details? Or can I put as part of my defense that since I can't see the details of the PCN I cannot reasonably defend myself (other than to dispute the things that are explicitly stated in the Claim Form)?

You are not obliged to do anything. However the best chance of winning this is to gather as much information as possible.

Plan A is always for the keeper to complain to the landowner and their MP, and it is never too late to do so.

Have you read the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES that includes a guide to court written by bargepole?

Have you read the Template Defence thread that includes a twelve step guide to defending a claim as well as a defence template that is 95% written for you?

Did you ever receive a NTK and if so what happened next?
What do the particulars of claim say?
What is the name of the PPC please?
What is the issue date of the claim form?

You should complete the AoS on or shortly after day 6 from the claim form issue date.
You should send an SAR to the DPO of the PPC. You will need to include non-photo proof of ID with the request.
You should then create a defence using all the information you have available and show us only the parts of the template that you have altered (normally just paragraphs 2 and 3).
Once completed including any suggestions by the regulars, then you should email the defence to the CCBC.

Abbreviations and acronyms common to this forum can be found in the fifth post of the NEWBIES.

There is no S in the word "defence".

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Have you filed an Acknowledgment of Service?
If so, upon what date did you do so?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.
