So you probably haven't been pulled out of a good fix rate so you could just wait for the letter to arrive to the occupier from whoever it has been switched to.
Do you know how to read your gas meter and convert that into kWh and pounds and pence so you can budget in the mean time?
The message that you copied earlier underneath the Gas Transporter is just a standard message for *if* there is no gas supplier specified.
From what you pasted, it states your supplier is NPower from what I can see0 -

In that case, you are now shipperless. All properties have an address and a MPRN (for gas). Your meter serial number is linked to the MPRN. My guess would be that a supplier has incorrectly updated the database listing. You now need to ring Cadent and apprise it of the situation. Ask for a database search based on your meter serial number. If necessary, look at an old bill and give them the MPRN that was linked to the meter serial number. Cadent should be able to see the supplier that is billing against your meter serial number.
Contact that supplier in writing. Provide them with a copy of an old bill which shows the MPRN and meter serial number and a photograph of your meter. Tell them that a database listing error has occurred and ask them to change the listing back to your address. Only the nominated supplier can change a database listing.1 -

Being shipperless if you were to do nothing some might say you would be getting you gas for free.
Some might say.
What for an occupier letter but in the mean time note down usage and tuck the money away in an interest bearing account.0 -

Npower customers were all moved over to EON Next. https://www.eonnext.com/npower-information
You might therefore be a customer of EON Next. Worth giving them a call on 0808 501 5200 and asking them if they are your supplier.0 -

Remember the industry has had two meter databases since well before privatisation.

Another call to EDF might be worthwhile simply to ask them who has attempted to takeover your supply.
What has happened is that they failed to block the requested switch during the cooling off period and so it went through, and now needs to be reversed.
Quite how this has now rendered your supply as shipperless is not clear, but at least you will be enjoying free gas until it is resolved. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks for all the info and advice guys!
I'll try to get to the bottom of it all on Monday, typically I'm working at a show during office hours this week but I'm checking back here and I'll update when I know more - will call EDF on Monday and see if they can shed any light on the new supplier...
Cheers!0
