Register of judgements how long time span ?

8 Posts

Hi,
Does anyone know how long if you do a search on the register of judgements it goes back ?
My brief scenario is approx 2007 to 2014 I used to live in property A, property B 2014 to 2017 and current property since 2017 I haven't been on the electoral roll for over a decade nor have I done a credit search since around 2011,I appreciate that a new credit search will only cover from 2017 hence the problem I need to find out if anything remains from the period around 2010 any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I'm aware any c.c j is enforceable at any point if i have one I just want to establish this potential fact without contacting original mortgage company.
Whilst a CCJ doesnt get impacted by the law of limitations there is still a 6 year limit on enforcement after which it isnt statute barred but they would need to get a judge's authority to continue to pursue enforcement. They have to explain to the judge why its not been collected to date.
The official public registers only hold data for 6 years and so going back further than that is going to be hardwork.
If 2009 was the last contact you had from them, then its fairly safe to assume the ship has long since sailed on this one, and you won`t hear from them again.
For any enforcement action, they need an address for you, in this day and age its not difficult to trace debtors, so if they wanted to find you, they would have done so by now.
I think your worrying over nothing.
