DRP threat for a 4 year old parking charge

Hi,
My friend was sent a letter from DRP chasing payment for a parking charge dating back to almost 4 years ago. The incident apparently took place at Walsall’s Crown Wharf.

Unfortunately, my friend naively went through the POPLA appeal 4 years ago without seeking advice from this forum and cannot remember whether the appeal was won or lost.
They do, however, remember sending a letter to CP Plus to stop the harassment of letters. They even still have some email back and forth with CP Plus where the last interaction was CP Plus stating that my friend would need to await the outcome of the appeal before any goodwill gesture would be considered.
To note - when the parking charge was sent in the post, both the first initial letter and the chaser letter were sent together and received at the same time. Therefore, meaning that the period to pay the discounted amount had elapsed by the time the letters had been received (all flagged in the appeal and the emails between CP Plus)
My friend has now received a letter from DRP chasing payment at her old address, where she no longer resides and has been given a deadline of today to pay, or else…
My friend now knows of this forum and is hoping to seek some advice on how to move forward. Would it still be useful to send out a complaint to the land owner ([Remove by Forum Team]? According to other posts on this forum) to try and get this cleared. Or will it be a waiting game?
Thank you!

A landowner cancellation at any time kills this off, so an avenue definitely worth pursuing. Beyond that, DRP can by ignored absolutely - see NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post.
Your friend should come back if a Letter of Claim is received from solicitors acting for CP Plus (probably DCB Legal). Until then, nothing to do, other than the landowner complaint. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

As CM says it's important a rectification notice is sent to the solicitors and the DPO of the PPC, tell them to erase your old data and replace it with the current address for service.3

Thanks all - based on the advice you’ve all given, does my friend need to email/send a letter to DRP and CP Plus informing them that they no longer live at that address? Whilst also providing their new address?Or can my friend be super vague in their communication and just state that they no longer live there?0

Or can my friend be super vague in their communication and just state that they no longer live there?Never! That will inevitably lead to court papers being served to the former address, your friend blissfully unaware that the court has awarded costs to CP Plus, until he/she sees their credit rating plunge through the floor with financial pain for 6 years.Notify the Data Protection Officer of CP Plus of the new address, tell them to erase the former address. Tell them to notify any agents to whom they have passed on your data. The DPO's email address can normally be found in the 'Privacy' section of the CP Plus website. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Thanks CM! Just wanted to provide an updated which will hopefully help someone in future when searching the forum.
I sent an email to [Removed by Forum Team] who acknowledged my complaint and forwarded it on to the property and centre managers, as Ed no longer deals with the Crown Wharf, Walsall site.
Property centre managers then sent my complaint on to the operations manager [Removed by Forum Team] ([Removed by Forum Team]), who was extremely helpful and simply cancelled the parking charge. He was of the view that investigating/chasing something over 4 years ago was unreasonable and something he wouldn't stand for.
He highlighted that out of all the other sites he manages, this is the only one he has an issue with in relation to parking and that he was actually dealing with quite a few other unreasonable parking charges from CP Plus (who are now GroupNexus I think?) at this particular site - and is more than happy to deal with/resolve any issues.
He sent an email confirming that he will ensure that the parking charge is cancelled and to contact him if any other issues relating to this matter crop up.
Huge thanks everyone!

Well done you, PLAN A works well
CP PLUS have been scuppered and your information will be of help should we see another of these old claims.
Let's hope that [Removed by Forum Team] makes it clear to CP PLUS.
AND FOR YOUR INFO, YES, THEY TRADE UNDER THE NAME OF GROUP NEXUS .... the joke is this is only a two man band and not some grand organisation1
