Hi
Just a warning to anyone who may have used the softxpress website to order DVDs. I placed an order over a month ago after it was recommended by Kelkoo. The payment (made through Paypal) went through straight away, but no DVDs arrived. I tried to email the company but got no response. I also tried ringing the company on the phone number given on the website but it was either engaged or would ring out. I tried to access the website today, but it has been removed and replaced with a message stating that they are upgrading their payment system.
I had a hunt round the internet and have discovered that many, many people are having the same problems - some people having spent £60 or £70 with them. It looks very suspicious...
I have contacted paypal who are investigating, and interestingly, Kelkoo have now removed the website from their list of recommended shops.
If anyone else has ordered from this company, I suggest you check it out now, as Paypal only allow 30 days to make a claim (and Nochex will not refund at all). Good luck...

This looks like a major problem . The losses suffered by people ( if you look at the postings on other message boards) must run into thousands. I have a similar story . I ordered a mobile SIM card ( luckily it was only £3.99 ) on October 25 with the promise of next day delivery. After a few days and no parcel I decided to phone them . Their line was always engaged. I sent a fax and also an e-mail . No reply from those.
I then did a search of the web and that is when alarms bells started to ring with everyone telling the same story of non-delivery and zero communications. Then the website changed. First a single page said that they were updating their payment system. The current one gives a long, rambling excuse for the situation they are in. According to this page they have instructed both Paypal and NoChex to return everyone's money. They are also threatening to sue anyone who has published names and addresses of the directors involved with this company. But this information was all in the public domain , so where is the problem?.
Paypal say they cannot pay back any money because Softxpress's account stands at zero and Nochex say that they have never received any communication about refunds. Kent trading Standards and Kent police are both investigating Softxpress so we will have to wait for developments. The only people who have actually received refunds are those who paid by credit card. These refunds have come from the credit-card companies and not from Softxpress. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I got a response from paypal telling me that they have determined that the seller is at fault, but there can not refund my money as there is no money in the seller's account.
I have also contacted my credit card company. I'll just have to wait and see what they come back with...0 -
The owner of Softxpress has now started talking . If you go to this message board you can see his answers to some of my questions. I will leave you to make your own conclusions about this . He calls himself Joe 7175 on this board :-

Thanks trisontana for all your help!
I will email Paypal again to find out what's going on at their end...0 -
I received my refund via Nochex today but it does not answer the question of why Paypal are saying that there is no funds in the Softxpress account and so they cannot pay refunds. In both cases the owner of Softxpress is saying that all the money is held either by Nochex or Paypal. If Nochex can pay out why can't Paypal? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
