People receiving their agreed salary package. not sure what there is to complain about.

As mentioned many times, I took a 30% pay cut to join the public sector as I felt the overall benefits package, including pension, was fairly equivalent.  If I had instead decided to stay in the private sector with a 30% higher salary then I would not be complaining that others made a different decision.  Every job, public or private sector, is open to applicants so I can't see why anyone would moan about another job having better pay and conditions.
Agreed, but the amount of comments of the “lazy useless tea swilling civil servants “ variety are enough to get really tiresome.
Mind you I do love a brew 🫖☕️
And, if it's like my wife's office, tea and coffee are provided by the staff not for the staff.
  • Having received my State Pension advice letter yesterday, I was wondering when we'd hear if the CS was raising inline with it.  So very pleased to get confirmation. Now if my company pension (TUPE'd) pays the same as well I will be very pleased.  52 years and counting, knowing I was, in the early years, being paid less for my jam tomorrow pension.  I will enjoy the jam. Rent, CT, Broadband and food all raised, so might break even.

I'm sure this will be as welcome as a hole in a parachute to many on this forum but to those in the Public Sector (myself included) it will be very much welcomed.  The public service pensions increase of 10.1% has now been formally announced.  Here is the link for anyone interested....
Phew! They were taking so long to announce it I thought they were looking for ways round it.
That would have been difficult seeing as it is set down in statute.  That said, I did take a look a week or so ago and began to wonder when it would be announced but then, looking back at the history of the relevant page, it has been announced as late as the last week in March, so this years is pretty much around the "normal" time.

Difficult but I dare say they had a go😁
I can’t see why once Sept CPI is announced that they can’t announce it straight after.
Because the revised public sector pensions increase (PI) calculation tables etc are released at the same time as the increase confirmation.  Not a 5 minute job to create and check, hence the delay.
    Thank you.
