Section 75 Query

I'm assuming a fair line to take would be ' sorry HSBC, but agreement is with you not Visa so I couldn't give a monkeys what they say....you still have the obligation to sort this under section 75..'
Any thoughts appeciated!
Absolutely !! Your dealings are with HSBC NOT Visa. The Financial Ombudsman can, and has, awarded compensation to consumers who have been messed around like this by credit card companies.
I got caught up in the Maxjet failure, my Credit Card co, Morgan Stanley were very good. They did try delaying tactics once saying that they were bound by Mastercard, I wrote back and said that they were "having me on". They even paid the extra that it cost me to get business class tickets on BA.0 -
Good to hear it's as I thought - There is no way I would roll over if HSBC changed their tune but hopefully they won't do that.
As I say this has taken a while and required some effort but they have acted fairly up to this point to my mind. I will let you know what happens either way!

Just to close this thread, I have not had it confirmed by HSBC that the previous refund of £900 is 100% agreed and as far as they are concerned, this matter is closed as regards reimbursement.
Obviously I'm very happy with the result. It took a while but HSBC were very good about this overall.
The final peice of the puzzle is what to do with the furniture - HSBC are checking with Natwest (apparently there were/are the vendors bank) and will get back to me soon if they wish to recover the goods.
My contact at HSBC feels it is unlikely so I may have to sort out what to do with the goods myself. Bit of a hassle but one I will happily undertake now I've got the cash back!
Thanks for all advice given.
