Calls and texts from Nationwide PPI team for loan.

Thanks to the help I received on here, I successfully claimed PPI back from my Nationwide bank account in 2009. I also claimed for a Nationwide loan but as far as I can remember, it didn't go anywhere.

Over the past week I've had several voicemails and texts asking me to contact the PPI team. I called today to be asked questions about the loan claim.  Very early into the call, I mentioned that I was in the car and the call handler said he would have to terminate the call as he can not speak to me if I was in the car (I was not driving- sitting in a car park).  I now have had another two calls from them asking me to call them.

It seems odd to be in touch after such a long time? Anyone else had similar calls ? It is Nationwide who is calling, not a scam company.

Comments

  • Call them back on a known number.

They may have identified a previous failing.
  • Apparently nationwide are doing a review of historic complaints to determine whether decision was correct. Asked a lot of questions as to what adviser said, did adviser suggest that PPI was required for the loan, none of which I can remember.  Kept saying "Not trying to catch you out, just clarifying some points to see if we made the right decision. " It wasn't successful so maybe they'll decide it should have been - ha ha!
