It is ok to have a heat-pump tumble-dryer in cupboard under the stairs

The previous owners of our house had a tumble-dryer in a cupboard under the stairs. Not sure what type it was. There's no sign of an extractor pipe.
I guessing that a heat-pump one would create cold air in the cupboard but not create damp air. Is that right? Would it be ok here or cause problems?
Many thanks

If you leave the door open whilst its on, can't see it being a problem.1

Is the stairway your fire escape route, especially if sleeping.0

yes. is that a risk?0

I would say added risk, with its location and probably restricted ventilation.1

My heatpump one used to be in an inbuilt wardrobe, and now it's in a hallway cupboard. Door open while it's on. Only use in daytime and when I'm in and awake.... it's fine.1

Our tumble drier is in a purpose built laundry cupboard. It condenses into a container. We leave the cupboard doors open a bit when it's on, helps to heat the adjoining room..
