How much does the street bother you?

Would be a no from me
it does depend what your other options are though OP?For us, the biggest consideration is a decent garden. We looked at one house where the house and area were lovely but the garden was only 12ft long on one end and 24ft on the other end (a kind of wedge shape), so ruled that one out due to that.0 -
The one thing that you cant change about a house is the location. Do not under estimate the importance of the area where you live.
That said a touring caravan on someone's land really wouldn't put me off. But we do have a motorhome parked on the driveway!1 -
I wouldn't judge the place just by a single google foto. I am not sure you have much control over the neighbours either - they can always move for whatever reason and the new ones might turn out to be somewhat problematic.

The Google earth screenshot is more what it was like when we drove over on Sunday.*the cars aren’t bashed up, I just can’t get google earth to show them any better quality than the image attached.

The lack of parking is a problem, Council bollards, and just a cramped street. The is a dropped curb for the parking on the grass so its not going anywhere0 -
Parking is one of the things I would look at these days, not just how easily I could park on my own drive but if I had visitors who needed to park. If the street was jam packed in the evenings and people were parked up to the driveway, it would probably be a no from me.
When we first bought, the location was not something we really considered other than the overall area. Where we live, the side access to our house is across a shared drive with three garages. The other side of this is a house who seem to think they don't need a rear fence, they just don't have one and when on our driveway to the side, you can see into the rear of their house while they are cooking dinner! Its not the end of the world and my wifes granparents (who owned the house before us), called them the low lives so I can only assume the lack of fence is part of a wider issue but they haven't bothered us yet so at the moment, their lack of fence is none of my business.0 -
Late to the game, but I think, if you're asking a bunch of strangers if you should buy a specific house, don't buy it. You've clearly got reservations, and a gut instinct about it, I wouldn't ignore those.£2699 credit card (£3848 01.02.23)

The littering is v annoying and I could not put up with it if this were forever home. I can make my house as nice as I like but i simply cant change neighbors ….
For me it is a temporary home and long-term investment, therefore I am still happy with, but next time i buy a probably then forever home: definitely not in a street which seems untidy, littered, rowdy, unloved, it’s a daily annoyance which you cant change yourself ….
Yes you can, get out there with a litterpicker and some bags. That's what thousands of us do across the country. Be the change you want to see.
It's the British way. If you don't own it, you probably don't care.0 -
