Postal address for DWP payments department

Hi. I've been trying to reclaim some travelling expenses under ESA.  Tried chasing it by phone and just got bounced around between DWP and Jobcentre Plus.  Finally found out that I need to speak to the DWP payment dept.  However, I think man will land on Mars before I can get through on the phone!  Anyone have a postal address for them?  Thanks

Hi, is the information in this link of any use?

I think you will need to write to CRU - compensation recovery unit.

    Good luck with it all.

OP just wants an address, not validation. I don't think it will help us to assist them, even if we know what the expenses are.

CRU does not pay ESA travel expenses..... it's nothing to do with the administration of ESA.

It's very relevant to know what type of expenses the OP wants to claim.....

If it's a refund of hospital fares the NHS claim form is sent to the usual ESA benefit delivery office.
If it's a refund of travelling expenses in connection with a JobCentre meeting (work related activity), it's the local JobCentre.
If it's a refund of travelling expenses to a work provider while claiming ESA it's the work provider.
if it's travelling expenses while doing volunatry work it's the company where the work is done
If it's another type of travelling expenses I may know who the OP has to contact.

CRU are the part of the DWP that recover amounts equivalent to benefits paid when a person has claimed certain benefits in respect of an accident or industrial disease where compensation has been paid. They aren't the part of the DWP that would refund travelling expenses.

I've always claimed expenses at the hospital I've travelled to for treatment or an appointment

Apologies, i should have made it a bit clearer. The first step is to claim the money back at the hospital but not all hospitals now have cashier facilities. Or the office may be closed. In these cases a person would have to complete a HC5. Once completed the form has to be sent to the office that administers the benefit. The DWP office then has to send the form to the hospital. I can't imagine it's a quick process for getting a refund.
