PIP assessment text

Hi all,
I received a text this Morton the DWP saying "We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You do not need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us has changed"
I have been receiving PIP since 2018 for depression and anxiety. It was renewed around this time in 2021 and was due for review around now but I didn't receive any forms about it this time and this is the first I've heard about it since 2020. What does this mean if I haven't had to fill out any forms or have an assessment?
Thank you.

You said it was renewed in 2021. Did you receive forms during that time and returned them? If so was a decision made on that review or was your award just extended? Backlogs are considerably long in a lot of areas and believe it or not some people are waiting well over a year for a decision.

Hi, yes I did receive forms then and sent them back and also had a phone assessment. I received the same text from them that year too after my assessment. Thinking back however, I'm not entirely sure that I received a decision letter. My initial award carried on being paid, though. If it is the case that it was just extended, will they be basing their decision now on those forms? Surely they would need me to complete new ones.0

They may have done a paper assessment and forwarded it to a DM.

What would they have based it on though? I've checked my patient record and there has been no access requests from anyone so will they be basing it on what I answered on the forms over two years ago?0

Probably, they’ll use the information they have. Obviously if you have changes that you think could entitle you to a different level of award you are free to report these changes yourself without being asked by DWP.katiemac1984 said:… will they be basing it on what I answered on the forms over two years ago?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Is it the DWP I need to call to request a copy of my assessment?0 -

PIP assessors dont have access to your medical records, so even if you went through an assessment then they wouldn’t look at your medical details.katiemac1984 said:

PIP assessments are carried out using the form you complete, any supporting information you send and the assessment.
Your original claim back in 2018 would have a review date, reviewed in 2021 and you say due for review about now. Covid caused a back log due to switching from face to face to telephone assessment and the amount of claims received.
I would imagine to renew a claim based on a 2021 questionnaire, may lead to questions. Id suggest they have noted no change between 2018 and 2021 and so have completed a paper assessment. Quick and easy!
Unless you feel your worse then I would accept you may never know the hows and whys but I would check the length of the decision.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
