What guarantee? Do the terms say it's only valid if you register within 3 months? If so, those are the terms - there are no general consumer rights about manufacturers' guarantees, they're in addition to your statutory rights.

The guarantee is offered by the retailer or manufacturer and is different from your consumer rights.
You'll need to speak to whoever is offering the guarantee to see if they will accept you registering late but they don't have to allow it.

Your rights with a guarantee are what the manufacturer/retailer  says they are. They are company specific so what does yours say on the card?

Not completing the guarantee and sending it back doesn’t affect your statutory rights at all. You still have that protection if your item develops a fault.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

You need to check the specific T&Cs on the guarantee. Most have some sort of clause that you need to register within 30 days of purchase (and use the receipt as proof of purchase).

A guarantee isn't always that great. You still have consumer rights if it goes wrong.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Your rights are nothing to do with a guarantee... a guarantee is in addition to your rights and can be as restrictive or gold plated as the provider wants it to be. They are perfectly in their right to set a maximum timescale in which the guarantee can be claimed if they want to.
