Hambro Life Assurance LTD 1975

My mother in law who has the onset of dementia has found some papers from Hambro. She can't remember the person who is the policy holder but the papers and agreement clearly say she is the beneficiary. All papers signed the year 1975, the insured person deceased. How can I find out any details for her, is she entitled to this money, what happens to it as she never claimed it ? The money could really help her being a pensioner that rents and pays bills. Any in appreciated

If the papers are dated 1975 and the person whose life was insured died 1975 the chances are the papers your MIL found are related to the policy paying out to her in 1975. What leads you to think MIL never claimed or received the money? In terms of who to check with :- Hambro became Allied Dunbar who closed in the early 2000's. Zurich took over the remaining live business (as I recall) but what historical closed policy info was transferred to Zurich I've no idea.
