DCBL legal

Hi, I am new to these forums. I have read the Newbies stickys on PCN's etc. My query is this, after several letters demanding payment for charges issued on two separate dates from 2019 and 2022, I'd simply like to know if it is just wiser and more sensible to cough up once the DCBL legal chase-ups start, which in the case of one demand it has. I'm not refusing (so far) to pay for no good reason but charge one was for parking on double yellows on a garage forecourt (I'd only done so to avoid congesting the pumps, we only went into the shop for coffee), and two was for getting a charcter wrong on our reg number, the parking duration in that car park was actually fully paid for. I just feel that 100 quid straight off is a bit greedy-or I'd have paid up. If it is getting harder to contest thed charges, I'm considering just paying the two and being 340 quid down if there is any chance they will bump it up even more. I need to check the original demands but I think both are from UKPC

Welcome!
Absolutely no paying. You WANT the court claim because once you defend (using our template) and reach WS stage, they routinely discontinue.
You haven't seen the thread by @Umkomaas?!
You will pay nothing at all. If they do take a case to a hearing we win 99% of the time (depending on Judge) and if you lost, you'd pay LESS than the claim! No risk, no high costs, no CCJ.
It is a no-brainer to reply robustly to the LBC telling them to do one, then defend the claim.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A one character keying error should be cancelled by the PPC anyway under BPA COP which PPC is conning you?

@PhilH2018 You most certainly should not even consider paying either of the two PCNs you have received. Just because a bottom-dwelling law firm like DCB Legal are involved is even more reason to challenge this.
You have been scammed by private parking companies and if you just pay up, as you have suggested, you are just making the problem worse for all future victims of this scam. Only fools and their money pay these scams. Intelligent people come here, read, re-read, digest and begin to understand what is involved by first reading the Newbies thread near the top of this forum. Which one are you?
So far, we know that the shysters at DCB Legal are chasing you over two alleged debt which you are disputing. This is a simple civil case which, if it ever went that far, would be in the small claims court. DCB Legal have a history of dropping these claims if they are defended properly, as we will advise and you will know after having read the Newbies thread. Just have a look at this thread: DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS
Scammers such as the PPC and their legal skivvies rely on innocent victims pooping their pants at the thought of any legal action and paying up, including their illegal add-on charges and alleged damages. Defend robustly and they will most likely drop the case just before it goes to court. But even if they are stupid enough to proceed before a judge, they inevitably get a virtual spanking 99% of the time.
The other 1% are mostly victims who haven't followed the advice given here or been extremely unfortunate to get a stupid judge who has little or no knowledge of the law as it pertains to these consumer/contract matters.
Do you want to be a 1 percenter or one of the 99 percenters?3 -
Thanks for the above comments, I'll heed the advice and go over the stickys agin, keep you updated0

I believe the next stage for me then is posting an SAR?0

Plan A is always try and get the landowner to get the PCN cancelled. An SAR to the PPC should also be made, just to ensure that you have all relevant information that the PPC has on you and copies of all communications with you.
Where did these events occur? Can you re-visit the site to take pictures of any signs. You need to note what was visible and what isn't visible or is missing.
Have you had an LoC or LBC yet? (all acronyms explained in the Newbies thread)1
