I will be switching to them (HL). Yet again. For yet more cashback.

Right now I see pensions platforms as being trading positions - I move in and out of them frequently, and take the profits where available. Can't say that the lack of any decent drawdown options from Freetrade bothers me in the slightest right now.

Sooner or later, this gravy train will end. And at that point I might actually pick a platform based on service and functionality. Something I will hopefully be able to make a very educated choice on. But for now, I like the gravy 😁

Does anyone know if one would qualify for returning back to HL? I ask because I tried to obtain £200 on returning to IG but they said I didn't qualify as I had an account with them previously.

Well, I refer you to my earlier post. But basically, you have to read the terms of each offer. Some offers for some providers say that you need to be a new customer. Some don't. Some say you can't have been a customer within a certain time period. For all I know, some might say that you can only qualify if you open the account at exactly 11pm on a night where the moon is waxing gibbous… (I shouldn't give Freetrade ideas…).

So, what do the terms of the offer you are looking at say?

I have an old H&L account which has been dormant for 5+ years and my understanding is that as long you don’t have even 1p with h&l then you qualify - mine is 0.00. I am trying to get their confirmation

My transfer has just completed. Reasonably quick once I had given them a push.

So I called H&L and they basically said that the cashback offer doesn't apply to a pension in drawdown but couldn't give me any evidence in the T'S&C's and said they had an internal memo.

Not sure if I should pursue this anymore unless someone has done a drawdown transfer with H&L and got the cashback offer registered

    Extra update:

Now that my II SIPP and Vanguard ISA are now safely with Freetrade I have requested that my Fidelity SIPP which contains 2x ETF's (a short duration UK gilt ETF (IGLS) and a World Equity ETF (ACWI), both of which Freetrade offer) is also transferred to them.

Once all done, that should get me pretty close to the maximum £5K cashback in December.

I recieved an e-mail today telling me that my transfer was complete, which came as somewhat of a surprise. But it turned out to not to be Fidelity, but was instead a £0.07 residual remanant from the II transfer. 🤦‍♂️

    … I thought that was a bit "efficient" 😂

    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

Just an updated on my SIPP transfer from II to Freetrade.

It was initiated on 22/1 (first day of fee free SIPP) and completed today. It comprised of 3 ETFs all of which were offered by Freetrade and a very small amount of cash, it was an in specie transfer.

The reward tracker updated correctly too.

All in all no complaints. II kept me informed througout as did Freetrade. Freetrade do sometimes take 3 days to reply to emails but then I'm on the free plan so no complaints. My only grumble is the need to send a paper transfer form but then I guess II require this.

You did better than me. I initiated an II transfer to Freetrade on the 12th January, and I've only just got an email from them that the valuation has been received. To be fair, I think this is totally II dragging their heels. I already had to complete a paper form as they don't use Origo for in-specie, when I complained about the time it was taking, they 'coincidentally' requested a further release form that day.

Bit disappointed with II if I'm honest, I thought being one of the more modern platforms, it would have been much more efficient. At least the valuation has been stable over the transfer period, so I've not lost out on cashback at all!

My recent experience with an ISA and SIPP transfer from II to Freetrade was much quicker than the 2 above. About 2 weeks for the ISA, and 4.5 for the SIPP.

I managed to get around the paper transfer form by using docusign instead.

Both have tracked, so roll on 5th Dec for the cashback.
