New boiler?

If you don't have any recommendations from people you know, what is the best way of finding a reliable local installer? Looking on the WB site, there are a list of local installers but none of them have reviews. Is the fact that they are on the WB site a recommendation in itself?0

Which? has trader listings so I would check this first before other sites.

If people say where they are then I'm sure recommendations can be made here?
We replaced a 20 year old Vaillant recently with a new Vaillant condensing system boiler - cost £2000. I think the installers do very well for a day's work out of this but it took about 12 hours and I don't begrudge the labour charge as I guess the boiler cost about £900 or so and our guy fixed the old one as a Vaillant specialist for not much several times.0 -
Thank you very much for all your replies and input.
Whilst ours is around 20yo (Potterton), we've had BG out to fix it a few times recently and I question if they know what they're doing. Maybe a competent person could keep it going for some years more but I'm quite tempted now to get a new modern one with a guarantee and improved efficiency. Hopefully we can get it before the next winter comes.0
