Is Paypal Ripping Me Off?

I sold a lot of items on ebay last month which were paid for through paypal. As cash accumulated in my account I started to make withdrawals to be transferred to my bank account on 25 November. Paypal states 5-7 working days for the transfer to my current account. Now 18 working days later I still have no cash. Are others having the same problem? And what can I do about it other than apparently wasting time emailing their customer support team.

That does seem a long time.. should normally take 4-5 working days..

Maybe give them a ring and see what the issue is. If it is a large amount then you are losing interest..

  • Paypal is ripping all of us off.

    3.4% + 20 pence in every transaction.
  • I will have to ring them because I've not yet had a reply to my emails but I was curious whether other people were having the same problem. Thanks.

Is it PP or is it a cunning plot by the banks?

Banks don't like PP, it is a very successful rival. Perhaps they are deliberately delaying the PP withdrawal to make PP look bad.

After all, they do it with cheques and online transfers from other banks, and each blame each other for the 4 day delay.
  • On average for example if you draw money from paypal on a Sunday it will be in your account no later than the Friday,
So it should work as follows :

Saturday or Sunday out Friday in
    Monday out Saturday in
    Tuesday out Monday in
    Wednesday out Tuesday in
    Thursday out Wednesday
    Friday out Thursday in
Money will not arrive in your account so thats why I have not included it in there.

Saying that my paypal money goes into my account in about 4 days great service to be fair.
  • My experience has been the same as ebay-expert. I normally try to withdraw on a Sunday night and it has been in by Friday pretty much everytime until recently, and it has started arriving on Thursday:j !!

Just reading the title of your post, I'd say yes.
  • i would have been on the phone to them a week ago! I withdrew money last thursday and it was in my account yesterday - usually takes just under a week and I'm with Natwest too. I would be a bit concerned that the account details are correct that you have withdrawn it to. I really would advise you to ring them asap.
