I'd email DCBLegal, refer to their unsolicited phone call and urge them to cease and desist with phone contact, cut the crap, hurry up with the inevitable notice of discontinuance and save themselves the hearing fee.

And yes, I would put it like that.

    Roll on your discontinuance!
Really, you don't think it would work against me? I don't want to tempt fate.

    Go for it,.
As for the Parking charge notice, all you have said is that your vehicle received a parking charge notice in a moto service station - why?
Due to falling asleep and overstaying the free time limit. I was not aware of a time restriction, nor did I see any signs upon entering the service station, during (as I did not leave the car) or upon exit.

In case you're scratching your head that Nick Bowen looks/sounds vaguely familiar, he is the younger brother of BBC journalist/reporter Jeremy Bowen. It was a good win against PE, but I thought it a bit disingenuous of him to appear to be pleading some ignorance about having to pay beyond 2 hours stay at a motorway service area.

PE obviously not prepared to take on a QC (now KC), why would they when there are plenty of 'little men' to rough up in court to get their pound of flesh.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Hi All,

I wanted to give you an update on the status of my case. I’m thrilled to say that I recently received an email confirming they were discontinuing the claim!

They attached the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance. They also state that they have filed the N279 with the court.

Should I follow up with the court for confirmation that they have indeed received this and get confirmation in writing directly from them?

Thank you so so much for all your help @Umkomaas @Coupon-mad @patient_dream @Half_way

    Yay! A discontinuance = a win!

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

And we sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Government Public Consultation this Summer?

    Anticipated July/August.

We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA and roboclaim 'legals' gaslighting of people.

Please come back here when it opens.

If you are not a regular reader, to be alerted you'll need to bookmark the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum and enable (on your profile) email alerts for bookmarked threads.

Then join us when the Consultation opens. ...PLEASE!  We need all MSE-reading victims if this horrific harassment and bullying by parking firms and their hired 'legals' to be heard.

See you back here in August!
