You pay rernt, council tax, gas/electric, water as priority bills. Food is not a bill, but it is a priority so you need to make sure you have enough for that. Look at Olio for your area, and Too Good to Go (both apps for free or cheap food). Make a list of what is in the fridge and cupboards and post on the old fashioned board lower down, they have great threads that will use what you have rather than you needing to buy food, so may help you get through the month.marieanntinastock said:Sourcrates, we’ve been paying the credit cards, next, PayPal after the rent, council tax , electric water but obviously not keeping money for food and petrol, haircut etc. We thought these are classed as priority as well.
As has been said above, do the SOA and stop paying the cards, that will probably mean cancelling any direct debits if they automatcally take payment from your bank account. Right now the worst they can and will do is phone you (hang up and block their number for now), and write scary letters that you can ignore for now.
Then when you have posted the SOA people will give you help.
Oh, also worth posting on the benefits board here to check that you are receiving all that you are entitled toCredit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 20360 -

Right, then don`t pay them, write to your creditors and explain your circumstances, tell them the debts are unaffordable, that you cannot afford food, and that you are in serious trouble here, they will put your accounts on hold, nothing will happen, affordability is everything, but you must tell them about your situation.marieanntinastock said:With out the credit cards and catalogue, we would be able to eat , petrol , get a haircut😀 I’ve had six months off work with hemiplegic migraines, they are like having a stroke. Takes me a while to recover, hence losing time at work and debt spiralling. I can’t afford the treatment for this either as I have it at a private practice every three months £130 now. I filled in the SOA and saved it but I don’t know where it went

There will be a way out of this, but without an accurate SOA we can't tell you which way to go.
Don't rush the SOA it needs to be accurate. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -

No, any unsecured credit debt, when you are struggling, is non priority, don`t worry, it can be sorted, however your budget shows a massive deficit no amount of cutting back will rectify.marieanntinastock said:Sourcrates, we’ve been paying the credit cards, next, PayPal after the rent, council tax , electric water but obviously not keeping money for food and petrol, haircut etc. We thought these are classed as priority as well.
