My husband and I have no money because of our bills. Our wages go in on 28th February. Once everything’s paid there is no money for petrol, food etc. I don’t even know how we are going to make it through next week. I’m sorry but we don’t know which way to turn. Every bill is up to date till we hit 28th. We are both working and are council tenants. I suffer with Hemiplegic Migraines and this situation isn’t going to help and I’ll lose more time off work.

Do you have anything you can sell? If you sell on Facebook with pick up only you could get some money pretty soon. What about some of your wages in advance? Also, what’s in your house regarding food, some one may be able to come up with food recipes or do you have a food bank close by?If things are this tight you are going to have to look at not paying all the bills, you must have money for food.2

You must pay your bills for rent, council tax and utilities any more unsecured debt don't pay.
Nothing terrible is going to happen if you don't pay unsecured debts.
Then you need to fill in a SOA and post on here and the good people will give you the best advice. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -
When you say bills, what bills do you mean ?
Because bills are paid in priority order, rent/mortgage/council tax/utilities/food etc etc, all come first.
Consumer credit debt and other non priority bills come a distant second.
Never pay your non priority debt if you don`t have money for the essentials, is that the case here ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi, we’ve been through what we can sell. My daughter gave us a £12 voucher for Morrisons today plus I changed all our small coins. So I had £18 to spend. I know I’m going to have to leave the credit cards and catalogue but I’m scared what’s going to happen. We’re not worried about our credit rating, just want to be able to sleep without worrying.0

More examples of non-priority debts: water, catalogues, credit cards, personal loans, old defaulted debts.
Do you have a credit on electricity or gas accounts? (given that a lot on non-gas users have had £200 dumped in their leccie account this week, often without any notification)
If things are really tight you might have to prioritise the priorities in order to eat & heat. If you can post a statement of affairs, as mentioned above, we could have a look at the detail

Sourcrates, we’ve been paying the credit cards, next, PayPal after the rent, council tax , electric water but obviously not keeping money for food and petrol, haircut etc. We thought these are classed as priority as well.0

So without paying the credit cards etc, you will have some wriggle room yes ?marieanntinastock said:Hi, we’ve been through what we can sell. Then don`t pay them, good grief you have to eat, you should never be paying credit related debts when you don`t have money for food, that`s just madness.
Nothing will happen, oh my days, your post has really shocked me, please don`t put yourself in this position, think logically about it, you need to be talking to one of the debt charities in my signature so they can advise you on your budgeting, what is a priority payment, and what isn`t.
Your credit debts can wait, think of yourselves for once, not how your creditors will react.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. With out the credit cards and catalogue, we would be able to eat , petrol , get a haircut😀 I’ve had six months off work with hemiplegic migraines, they are like having a stroke. Takes me a while to recover, hence losing time at work and debt spiralling. I can’t afford the treatment for this either as I have it at a private practice every three months £130 now. I filled in the SOA and saved it but I don’t know where it went0
