Benefits and reduced savings

Hi, i would greatly appreciate any information and/or advice for someone i am working with - they have been a carer for their parents for the last 16 years and he is receiving Carers Allowance and Attendance Allowance. Their savings are now at about £2000. He has made an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau to discuss benefits but i said i would post something on here to ask if anyone knows if he is entitled to any other help. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Savings that low won't affect any means-tented benefits.
Who are you enquiring about, the parents or the person caring, or both?
What is the age of the carer?

Who is receiving the Attendance Allowance? The carer or one of the parents? The reason for asking is if the carer was receiving AA then they would have to be of pension age. If it is the parent who is receiving AA then does the carer have any other income? Wages, for example?

Carers Allowance and Attendance Allowance are not means tested so savings make no difference regardless of amount.
However your post is unclear. It reads as if the person you are helping gets CA and AA but I assume this is not correct because if they get AA they are pension age which means they should (for most people) be getting State Pension in which case they would not be getting CA.
If you want advice you need to provide more information about their living circumstances and exactly what they receive as income and whether they have savings over £16,000.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
