In the car park for 2 minutes and 47 seconds

I have just received a “letter before claim” for an unpaid parking charge from National Prking Enforcement (asking that any replies should be addressed to Credit Investigation Services.).  The event occurred 8 months ago and after their initial rejection of my appeal I have ignored the various letters threatening legal action.

I have read the advice to Newbies and understand that I should now advise them that I intend to contest the claim and send them a SAR, using the template and requesting copies of all the data they hold on me and copies of all evidence they intend to rely on in court.

What I am not clear on is whether I am required to respond to their letter of claim by advising them of the evidence I intend to use to refute their claim. They refer to “Failure to provide the information requested may result in a court claim against you" etc. However there is no specific information requested and no form enclosed..

Any advice will be very gratefully received.

You can ignore letters from CIS.  See other CIS threads in 2022, where @Grizebeck has confirmed this isn't a real LBC.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you Coupon_mad. I have spent the last few hours reading past threads, but @Grizebeck has helped so many people that trying to find the thread I need is a bit like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The letter is on National Parking Enforcement letterheading. I attach a copy below. How can I tell this is a fake LBC?

Because it says (practically shouts at the recipient) not to contact them!   It says to contact CIS, therefore the real sender is CIS and it's just a threatogram.

Also, if you're going to take a picture of the document, you'd be better off then editing it on your phone/iPad/computer rather that sticking semi-transparent bits of paper on it in an attempt to redact personal information. Scanning the editing in the first place is best. As a resident of Eastbourne, you should know this!!!!!

Point well taken. Post-it notes aren't well designed for the job.
