    Bamboo has issued the default.

Cashfloat have indicated I'll get a discount if I pay up soon ( need to find out details ).

CashAsap have around 7 "working days" left to respond before they have to pay for the Ombudsman.
Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. The day my pernicious debts finally died.

    Legacy Default dates :
    Mr Lender - 31/10/2022
    Fund Ourselves - 22/12/2022
    Bamboo - 30/3/2023
    Likely Loans - 14/4/2023
  • Got the dreaded "Time is running out, son" email to avoid a default from Capital One.

So it's either a stressful call to them to setup an "arrangement to pay", pay £200ish to bring the account up to date or just que sera sera and let it default.

I am a little mindful of having too many multi-hundred-pound defaults at once, but we'll see how things play out on Monday and if the cashasap compensation has moved forward before then.

CashAsap have just paid out. Excellent.

Overdraft gone, DVLA fine paid, CashAsap default wiped. Will consider what else to pay off and update state of play after payday on Friday.

So now I am clearer. This diary has been about getting clarity as my thoughts have been all over the place. I have learnt the important priorities are gas, electric and council tax, not some whining, harassing and threatening unsecured debt company.

I'll close it now - and open a new diary volume soon with a debt snowball plan. The initial targets of the snowball will be the CashFloat loan and the Vanquis credit card, 2 relatively easy wins.
