Lol.
Capital One just sent me a text message to rate the call I had with them.
Fair enough. I don't mind.
But the texts to reply to each option are premium and charged to my mobile !

Having a bad day today - very low.
The monthly cash has already gone so will have to take the day off work tomorrow "sick" as I've no money to get there.
God I hate life.
Pretty sick to see so many people I know jetting off on holiday without a care in the world when I've got such money misery. Ugly emotions that have crept up on me.
Yesterday there was a beggar on the train asking for cash. No one really seemed to want to help. I gave him all the coins in my pocket - about £1.20. Yes, I know he was no doubt trying to con everyone and "would just spend it on drugs" but I didn't care. I know how hard it is to ask for money. I'd rather give that man the cash than all the payday loan companies I've paid 10s of thousands of pounds into over the last 12 years.
Need an early night.
The darkest hour is before dawn I suppose. Just really can't wait until March 31st and the next positive cash injection into my account and getting back on track with sorting the mess out.
It's important to me that the above was written here, in this diary.
Nothing from CashAsap yet. I suspect they will take their allowed full 8 weeks to come back with their derisory offer. I'll take them to the Ombudsman at that point, so at least they'll get the bill for that as well.
15 days of misery left this month.Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. The day my pernicious debts finally died.

Sorry to hear you are feeling low. Is there any chance of asking your workplace for a forward on your wages to cover your travel? Explain your car had to be scrapped and you have had an expensive month. Im sure they would rather you were at work than 'sick' and struggling. My DH uses surveys to gain a bit of extra spending money and has made about £50 worth of vouchers in the past month. If you are interested the site he uses is 'Branded Surveys'.1

I am really not sure why you are not entering a DMP and including the overdraft which must be costing you a fortune. These AP markers are as bad as defaults on your file so little point in really making arrangements which you do not seem to be able to afford anyway. A DMP would allow you to set an affordable monthly payment to them all. I am not including the council tax and utilities in that which are priority debts. Not sure about the DVLA fine. Can you sell anything to be able to afford to get to work?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I agree with the above poster. Please consider a DMP. Mortgage and any cars on finance are protected and its all very informal. It will reduce the stress but you will need to learn to live within your means.0

Thank you for your comments. I feel marginally better today.
My claim against CashAsap is substantial with 30+ chained loans ( paying off a loan and immediately taking another as all my money was gone ). This is the practice which the Ombudsman deems unfair and unaffordable lending. I don't know what the compensation will be but £2K+ seems very conservative - it should be the eye watering interest I paid on pretty much all the loans in the chain.
I'll not be going into a DMP until this is resolved and I know what the real picture is. With the compensation and my summer bonus I hope to have the loans and overdraft cleared just leaving the Credit Cards - which with a fair wind of circumstances I'll snowball.Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. OK, this has been rattling around in my head for a while as I muddle through a strategy.
I'm going to rip up my plan and not pay anything with an AP marker in a bid to get those accounts to default.
So, new plan :

Payment Assist ( motor repairs ) ( 12 x £29 ).
CreditSpring ( 2 × £42 ).

NatWest £1950 Overdraft. Reduce by £50 per month.
Vanquis CC ( £223, Cut up ).
Zopa CC ( £194, £200 Limit ).
Smile CC ( £481, £500 Limit ).
Defaulted debts to park for now :
( Default ) Fund Ourselves (£92). No payment plan.
( Default ) CashAsap (£102). No payment plan. Raised claim against them about this and many more loans.
Debts to suspend payment on to engineer default :
Likely Loans ( AP MARKER, £743).
CashFloat ( AP MARKER, £200 ).
Bamboo ( AP MARKER, £560 ).
Aqua CC ( £1337 ).
Capital One CC ( AP MARKER, £801 ).
Current income after accommodation, council tax, gas, electric and water: £500 / month.

Just finalised the voluntary overdraft reduction plan with NatWest. £50 reduction per month. I should be safe now from them suddenly withdrawing the whole facility.Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. The day my pernicious debts finally died.
