Thanks for starting NMLC, don't work too hard at home.Very windy here this morning, as forecast. My Dd and partner are having their roof replaced, the guys started on Monday, I don't know if they'll be able to work today. It's pretty light as well, although only 7am, seems to have got light suddenly.Hello Nanny, hope you are feeling a bit better. There seem to be a lot of people under the weather at the moment, Coxy, Gers,Maddie, Rosy's Dh and others, hope you people are feeling better today as well.My Dh had improved a bit when he woke up yesterday, I asked him about the painkillers - the pain was sciatic, and he doesn't think painkillers help it. Anyway the pain has gone off, but we didn't go out, we can go maybe over the weekend.Today we are delivering some shopping to 2 old ladies we know who live a few miles away, we do it every few weeks if they need anything. They have a network of friends doing shopping and it seems to work quite well. One of them would get blown away if she went out today, she's very frail and thin.Dp1, your little Dgd is hilarious, Windy Wednesday! Maybe she thinks the kite will fly better on a Wednesday!Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks.14

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The promised gale force winds have struck - I hoped they would be wrong! Being high up and on a corner I am at the mercy of the winds from all directions and the damage that comes with them.
I have the hairdresser coming early doors - unless she gets blown away on route! I might cry if she doesn't get here as it's gone haywire these last couple of weeks. Once she has gone (and I have flattened, fiddled and tweaked it to how I like it) I have the pleasure of the Friday Tidy with a dust and vac all round up and down.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. The MIA list is rising so hope all are well. I hope the poorly OH's have succumbed to painkillers and had a better night. Take care all and be safe in these winds xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning All
Windy here but not too bad, I did hear it during the night and thought I may have to close the window but must have fallen back to sleep!
Nice walk with the little dog yesterday, my friend is off on a Friday so no walking today. Costco visit will happen this morning, will meet DD there for a wander. I don't need anything but will fill up with petrol as it's usually much cheaper there.
Cleaned the windows inside and out in the two back bedrooms, the ex window cleaner didn't wipe the frames at all so they were quite black and needed a bit of scrubbing, had to keep going outside to have a look for the bits I had missed!
Hope your DH is better today Scarlet, very kind of you to look after your elderly ladies.
Happy haircut TA.
Hope everyone is recovering from the lurgies or bumps and bruises.
I phoned work yesterday to ask if I could come in today but was told no so I'll enjoy a day off again!
Happy Friday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks. It's certainly blowing a storm here, it's been named storm Otto. The wind and rain battered the house all night, it woke me a couple of times but I went back to sleep easily. The solar chargers are now on the blinds. The wee panels are secured on the inside of my window ledges. They won't capture any sunshine today. Mind you, the one in bathroom, which I've had for a year, is fully charged still. Not much power is needed to use them twice a day in winter. My electricity account is in credit because of the government subsidy, I'm saving it up for next winter.I dug a ready meal out of the freezer and then noticed that the instructions said 'not suitable for freezing'. Once cooked it was perfectly OK. Whilst it was in the oven I ventured into town to get two things, only doing left hand turns hurt. 😀 I'm much less sore apart from the cracked ribs. The body is a marvellous thing.Today my new cutlery is due for delivery, probably not until the late afternoon. I'll wash out the drawer insert whilst waiting.Hugs to all our poorlies. Happy Friday to all.11

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I felt better as the day wore on yesterday and slept better last night but have woken with another headache. Thanks mother nature - the gift that keeps on giving! Both bosses out today but I have some bits and pieces to do. DH is going away mid afternoon with his mates, so I've invited my neighbour in for drinks and nibbles. Just non-alcoholic and low fat ones though as it's FC tomorrow morning!
Hope everyone affected by Storm Otto is okay and sending hugs to all the poorlies and our missing folks.

Morning everyone storm Otto is definitely here local primary school is closed no electricity hopefully it’s forecast to calm down later in the day I’m going to meet my friend for a quick coffee I’m at work at 12 last one of the week I am going to have a blitz of the house over the weekend hubby has been told he is washing the windows he’s not very happy but tough he’s got all weekend to do them next week I am getting someone to come and measure up for blinds I have been saving for them since we moved in here as they are the old blinds that were hung up when we moved in which are tatty and broken in places but we have had a lot of dirt and dust while having work done I didn’t want new ones until it was finished I am going to have them on the patio doors they do ones that fit into the frames I’m hoping next year it will make the kitchen a bit warmer they are brand new with a long window either side so we have a huge wall of glass looks lovely but brrrr surely it’s got to make some difference. Hope all the missing folks are feeling a lot better Coxy good luck with FC tomorrow. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, I didn't hear the wind much during the night but certainly noticed it when out with the dog at 7.30. I took my secateurs out with me and chopped some blackberry stems that twine & loop across where we walk and threaten to trip me up when my foot gets caughtI had a nice afternoon with my cousin here, we probably nattered for 3 hours solid before we went to get DGS. DH disappeared upstairs after lunch for a bit of peace ;)Then last night my ex SisIL rang and she was on a long time too, seeing if we can arrange a meal out in M/cr , amongst other topics. It's DH birthday next week and then she & her DH in March. It'll prob be mid March before we find a mutually free time. The last couple of times we've arranged something the trains ended up being cancelled. After all that talking my throat felt a bit rough !DH off for his knee X-ray later this morning, so lets hope they can see the problem and it's solveable. He took painkillers before bed and seems to have slept better, thanks for the good wishesTea last night was the chicken kievs, the butcher puts mozzarella and garlic butter in the middle and secures with a little skewer, really tasty but they were massive, DH has saved half of his and said he'll chop it up for a sandwich todayEnjoy your day off Camelot, hope you don't get blown away TA!Glad you're feeling much better Coxy & hugs to the other poorlies x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
The wind is blowing wildly here and has been all night - it woke me a few times. No damage outside that I can see other than one trampoline from someone's garden blowing around the farmers field and another one upside down in the wrong garden!
I'm at work at lunchtime - DD will give me a lift down and then little one will come home with me for a sleepover after nursery. Last day for a week as we have half term next week.
I went for my second appointment with neuro psychologist yesterday - it seems that Covid has damaged the parts of my brain responsible for concentrating and remembering - hope fully it will get better in time. Then I had a doctors appointment - the MRI scan I had a few weeks ago confirms the psychologist's tests and the good news is I haven't got dementia or similar. So it's just a case of waiting and hopefully I'll stop feeling so tired soon - she said I'm not to work more than the 4 afternoons I'm doing now. My boss is ok with that so that's good. By the time I'd had both appointments I was shattered.
Well I'm going to get a few jobs done. I wanted a small backpack to use when I take little one out as we're hardly using the pushchair now. I ended up buying 3 from Amazon as I couldn't make my mind up so I have 2 to parcel up to send back.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all
Wet and windy here but not as bad as some of you have it, not too cold either.
Off to have electrolysis later this morning still a few stubborn hairs hanging on but she will zap them away like magic !
It would have been my brothers Birthday today so a lot of remembering him and all the stuff he used to get up to, will ring mum later and invite her up for dinner so she is not on her own.
There is a woman from our village who has gone missing she has been gone about a week now and they are asking people to go out looking for her, we will have a look while we are out with the dogs and have been all week but no sightings yet, I do hope she is found safe.
Hope everyone is well and stay safe in the storm xx10
