Overpaid redundancy

I accepted a voluntary redundancy offer from my previous employer and left at the end of January. Last week I was sent a payslip including the voluntary redundancy money I was owed but it also looked like I was paid 3 months' salary in lieu of notice. This is on top of the redundancy payment which already included that sum so I've been overpaid by a significant amount of money.
Now it seems they have realized their mistake and want the money back. The thing I'm concerned about is that I have paid tax on that income I wasn't supposed to receive. They are so disorganized I don't trust them to be able to do anything right. How do you go about untangling this and is there anything I should be saying to them? I shouldn't have to be dealing with this mess.

They should send you a revised payslip and report that to HMRC.0
