Post Office/Royal Mail problem?

Would it have been at our office (possibly does both jobs for our small technically-rural town; our postie neighbour refers to it as "the sorting office" but does his delivery round from there) or at the sender's end that the stamp would have been rejected, @NBLondon?

In a small town the sorting and delivery offices could be the same building but different teams. So if the sender is in the same posttown - it might go into that building through one door and out the other. But that's a digression. You still have two things to complain about 1) You were charged to receive an item when you shouldn't have been (unless the stamp was actually invalid/forged/re-used) 2) The person you first raised the query with gave you wrong information.I need to think of something new here...4
