Rusty chrome

I have a chrome shaving mirror attached to the wall in my bathroom. It's the type that folds in and out by a jointed scissor arm.
No matter how well I dry it it's still rusted. I will replace it but the similar mirrors all seem to be chrome.
Is there anything I can coat the chrome with before fitting that will stop this happening.
I really don't want to be replacing it every few years.

I would look around more and see if you can either get something that is painted, or maybe polished stainless steel which will give the same sort of look but last longer1 -
Maybe something like this? Has an extendable arm and looks like it hinges out of the way as well
