Strange EDF billing

My gas is on the SVR payable on receipt of bill. As EDF seem to bill randomly I have been submitting meter reading. When I received the bill it was less than I expected. The opening reading showed as 3253 but on the previous bill the closing reading was 3230. I checked the previous bill and that had the same issue. All the readings are showing as Your Read.

Very odd, didn’t think they could do that, I would just keep quiet about it0

I received my monthly bill today so having just read the above did double check my readings used and they are spot on. I submit readings on 15th of the month, whether or not I get a reminder, see a bill on my account on the 16th and payment (whole bill DD) goes out start of next month. Since moving to EDF last October I have been very happy with the logistics of my account and the billing, especially taking into account the temporary EBSS adjustments the suppliers systems have to deal with. As on previous bills EDF always arrive at a total around 30p lower than my spreadsheet calculations - they round down whereas I round up. As soon as the bill is online I download it for any future reference. Even though I have only 3 months history with EDF I like the feature on the bill that is an estimate of the next 12 months usage - and I am doing well in my economising mode because each month they revise the figures downwards.

Yes, very strange. Looked back and it happened last month too.0

That's got to be a manual input error hasn't it?If so, quite surprising that a billing system for a corporate the size of EDF is relying on that type of processing.I would keep quiet too not wishing to unravel a hornet's nest and the massive inconvenience that could flow as a consequence.0

I was transferred to EDF via the SOLR process from Zog in late 2021. They initially charged the cash/cheque prices with a promise that , if I set up a DD by end Jan 22, they would refund the difference. They did apply a credit in March 22 with no explanation and I couldn't work out where the figure had come from.
Asked for an explanation a couple of times - but still waiting a year later !! I suspect those figures were calculated manually.1 -
My six monthly EDF bill in December 2022 had a similar error for both electricy and gas.Bill: 31 May 2022 latest reading (dated 31 May 2022):Electricity: 8678 Gas: 3308Bill: 1 December 2022 previous reading (dated 1 June 2022):Electricity: 8704 Gas: 3315(apologies for no photos, I don't know how to post images)Both "latest reading" and "previous reading" figures are shown as YOUR READ, which is correct as I provided the readings. I also still have a photo of both meters from 31 May 2022 and both readings are as on my bill of 31 May 2022. So the differences between the two are Electricity: 26 Gas: 7I couldn't work out why there was a discrepancy but didn't contact them.0
