Morning all, thanks for the start nmlc.Glad you're improving Gers.Sounds like there are a lot of aches and pains around. DH is going for an Xray on his knee tomorrow, as the consultant he saw about his hip recently said there is still something amiss with the knee, which in turn is affecting the hip. He doesn't like to take many pain killers either. My cousin is coming later, & we'll have a light lunch, probably soup and rolls, and a bit of a dessert.I haven't seen her since before Christmas which is unusual, so looking forward to her visit. Will pick up DGS after school, DS rang earlier to see if he'd left his coat in the car as it's raining this morning( 1st time for ages) but I think he left it at school, he didnt have it on when he came out as they'd had PE and he was hot
.
I'll tidy round a bit before cuz comes. We'll have something from the meat pack for tea later.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning everyone
Little one came running in yesterday afternoon - 'its windy Wednesday can we go fly my kite?' So off we went to the field along from us and flew her kite - the wind was a bit too strong and the kite got stuck in a hedge at one point - but she declared it to be the best day ever! Apparently she's been waiting for a windy Wednesday - no idea where she got that from!
This morning I'm going to walk along to Farm Foods and see what I can get cheaper than it is on my Tesco order - it might help save a little bit money. Then I have work at lunch time then a doctors appointment at 4pm.
So I'd better get dressed. Hope everyone has a good day today x12 -

Morning All
I'm up a bit later today as I couldn't get to sleep last night, must have been about 1am when I eventually dropped off, very unusual for me, I usually fall straight to sleep and wake up early!
It was definitely a 'windy Wednesday' yesterday dp1, washing dried quite quickly. Glad the little one enjoyed flying her kite.
Sorry Gers, I must have missed that you had fallen, hope your aches and pains disappear soon.
Glad you're feeling better Nanny.
I'm taking my friends little dog out for a walk in a bit, quite enjoying being out in the fresh air and getting some gentle exercise. We'll go along the river and check for ducks (she thinks she can catch them!).
Windows to clean today, the window cleaner didn't come for 6 months then did a terrible job so he's got the sack!
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Hi everyone,
After a short nap yesterday and a better night I am feeling a bit more human. I also managed a bit more sorting and made a loaf of bread. My cunning plan of labelling the shelves so people know where things are doesn't seem to have worked, things are still being left out after being taken out of the dishwasher, sigh.
L and B will be packing to go to Wales tomorrow, we go on Saturday so the house won't be complete chaos I hope. We atre going across to see Crystal and Nate, he's 6 months old next week while we are away so I have got him a small gift. We've not been able to see them for 10 days because of Steve's lurgy.
I'll make a chicken and broccoli bake for dinner tonight, I have broccoli to use up, I also want to make a batch of veggie flapjacks for Esben if I get time.
Gers, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, I hope all the others with aches and pains also start to feel better.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning..it's not sunny today I can tell you. In fact, it's raining on and off which is yuk. But I'm not outdoors in it so I can't complain too much. I bet OH was glad about his waterproof fleece lined trousers this morning
Got the heart nurse after, will be taking OH with me this time so he can remember what I forget. He told me he's worried he'll wake up next to me and I'll be dead. Of course, I have turned this into a joke now because dwelling is not my way and I can't tell him it won't happen just like I can't say he won't do that to me...It's just maybe he can ask some quesions and stop worrying so much. On the way back I'm going to accidentally atop at the sm, I've got no coffee [ ground coffee] and there are a couple of other things we've run out of. If he's with me, I'm less likely to go crazy crazy with the buying of things. And then after that, I'm going to see Prue Leith tonight. Nigella was fun so I thought I'd try it again...
snoozer, you just sent me on a google spiral for savoury flapjacks...uh oh...Have a lovely weekend..mehefin, enjoy the chinese. Hope she enjoys the company too..Rosy/Scarlet, hope your respective OHs decide that manning up is not necessary 100% of the time. Chrisca, you show them how to do that!and hope it eases off soon. You too Gers! Nanny, nice to see you, glad you're better too...Look after yourselves all, shout to the MIA and not 100%-ers....

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I'm WFH today thank goodness as had a terrible night. Woke at 3am by DH stumbling around trying to find the bathroom(!) then up again at 5am for pain relief as had a seering headache. Up again at 5.30am and was sick 7, yes 7 times! Back to bed with palpitations, headache, sweating cobs... sorry if TMI. I got up at 8.30am and had some more pain relief and a plain biscuit, showered and online for 10am. Luckily boss is offsite today so I can plod and actually feel a lot brighter now. Bedding is in the wash but looks like showers on and off today so will put it on the airer upstairs.
Not sure what dinner will be as depends on my stomach. In other news(!) I'm wearing a knitted cotton dress from Hobbs that I picked up for £1 in a CS before lockdown. I wanted to try it out WFH before braving it in the office, just to see how it looks after lots of sitting down. It looks okay but think I need some spanx or similar iykwim?
Hope our poorlies are doing okay and also the poorlie partners - sending healing vibes.
Have a good day everyone

Hello all, I'm bringing up the rear today. Thankyou for the warm welcome back but I'm so sorry to see that a lot of people on here and/or the DH's are poorly. Hope you all get better very soon and all the aches and pains subside asap.
This morning I had an early dentist appointment, only a check up and a clean and polish so now I'm ok for another year. I still have an awful taste in my mouth from the polish though, probably Mr Sh**n 😁 Afterwards we went on to the garden centre for a coffee and a sticky bun and the restaurant was buzzing with people. They had to call for extra staff to cope with the queue which is great to see as they've gone back into the hands of the old family and are no longer part of a chain.
I treated myself to some extra bamboo canes to sure up my honeysuckle which is growing like something possessed and I also bought a replacement garden clock and thermometer, such extravagance ! The old clock gave up the ghost over the winter and wouldn't tell you the minutes. Mr Fix It did operate on it but sadly to no avail, time of death something o'clock 😂
I found in the freezer shuffle yesterday some pasta bake, so that's tea sorted.
Take care and hugs to all. Stay safe in the bad weather coming overnight.

good afternoon all, just sitting down with a cuppa after a busy morning and a bite of lunch. Thanks to nmlc and pain free vibes to Gers, Scarlett and Rosy's OHs, also hope the lurgy has departed Coxy.
Yesterday turned into the day from hell (apologies for the list of woes to follow).
After posting on here I went into the kitchen and found some water in the bottom of the under sink cupboard, inspection by OH found that a joint had just failed (thank goodness the DW had not been on), it took him a big chunk of the day to get the parts, adapt to work round a major bodge job (prior to our moving here). In the meantime I took C dog for a walk on my own, instead of the planned walk with OH.
On the way home dog dived into the gutter and picked up a dead rat arrrrrgh, he was on a head collar so I managed to get him to ease his grip and drop it, I was dreading trying to take it, a battle of wills and a supremely hard yank on the lead and we eventually walked on.
Later came the bloody episode - the red runny stuff - aforementioned dog snaffled some cake from the worktop, I have previously been able to take things from him with no trouble, but this time I gained a painful and very bloody index finger, both convinced the Minor Injuries Unit had closed for the day, cleaned to wound a little and added copious layers of dressing and sticky stuff.
Next came time to do my weekly medication infusions, 7 years now and usually fine, but as I just finished managed to eject the butterfly before applying pressure and removing, cue more blood, but fine in the end and I wonder why I am tired today.
Minor injuries fixed me up this morning, but @Gers now having 2 days break before tacking another banking app. LOL.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)9 -
@Coxy11 would a full slip from M&S help, rather than Spanx? It would give a lining of sorts & might help the dress hang better. You could always try one & return if it doesn't help.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
