Hi mesr's

I continue to hold 2 Natwest Credit Cards, here's todays interesting request....

I had previously made a tel request to swap up to 90% of limit from expired 0% offer card -intending to close afterwards.
My 2nd Card then has my highest ever Limit 8.5K -flat 12.9 purchases and transfers.
I was checking today and it seems some temp 0% offers for transfer's continue on lowest Limit card
Zero% 18 Mths balance transfers -though what is left of Limit 1.3 k is too low for a new Purchase.

Is it possible to re request some of Higher Limit to be returned to lower limit card to use 0% offer.

thanks

  • Yea, it's possible to request it. You can request anything, no matter how outlandish.

But only NatWest can tell you if they will.

makes sense, I didn't have reason to check last time.

Whilst I called Natwest and Limit's between cards can be re requested.
The amount transferred would not be included in 0% 18mts offer.
    I think I'll use 12.9 card over 24 mths Instalment's

    thanks.

That certainly sounds like the sort of financially astute move we've come to expect.
Quite sensible 'feature' from CC Providers to offer Instalment plans from 6-24 mths.

Forgive me if I've misunderstood, but credit cards don't offer "instalment plans" as such (unless you've defaulted and come to a specific agreement).  You're free to spread payments over whatever time period you wish, subject to paying the minimum amount each month.  But on an interest-bearing card this is financial madness as you'll be paying a shed-load of interest.
Apologies if I've misunderstood your statement.

What you spending on this time dandy. It's mad that you want to use an interest bearing card than use some of the 0 percent limit you have. But your debt history is madness anyways

I still intend to clear 2nd Natwest anyway, that 18mths 0% expires very soon.
I have up to 12 mths t/fer offers on another card from VM though not sure if I'll keep using as almost cleared 0%t/fer balance, though may miss clearing in full not by much until May when it returns to 24.9 I think.
Going forward I intend to use Natwest more often, though I wont hold more than 2 providers cards, may keep Natwide.-
Totally undecided decision from Amex card, which I''m snowballing, a few more months yet, maybe mid '23 to clear, that's went from 22% approx up-to 29% range apr,
