Raspberry canes
Hey, in true mse style picked up some vastly reduced raspberry canes. I have a piece of land i am looking to develop but it's a mess and hard work. Unfortunately I have no where ideal to plant them.
Have 12 canes. Options are:
Stick them in large containers - will need a lot and considerable expense
I have some grassed area that isnt needed. Could i just dig a whole and plant within the grass? I know roots and new canes can go all over!
Give em away/throw them
Thoughts?

Why not use glyphosate on the area of grass you have before planting and leave a couple of days, or cut off the turf at least a foot either side and turn over to kill the grass. Raspberries are shallow rooted and will not welcome the completion from the grass.0

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

They are tough souls. Lift the grass from a smallish area dig it over a bit and plant.
I'd add a touch of blood fish and bone and leave.
Ive got around 20 in a 6-7ft area happy as larry and they invade my neighbours lawn. They mow them off with no ill effects. I've had to dig the running ones up from all over.
I do sling lay surplus stones from the veg beds over their base to hold moisture in.
But put them near enough for breakfast
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
