This thread doesn't read very nicely as it's been very heavily moderated but glad the appeal process has worked.

I hadn't re-read from the beginning, so hadn't see that quite a few posts had been stripped out.  I'd just chosen to ignore anything that wasn't relevant!

I was called for jury service and did not want to attend. On the form they sent (long time ago, may be different now) I just wrote something like "I have utter contempt for the police and justice system in this country, but if you still wish me to attend I will do so"

I got a letter back saying I am not required.
