And Saga savings have gone to the same rate. Not that it's worthy of any excitement.

2.8% is not really a contender when there are multiple 3% - 3.05% accounts which everybody can apply for today. Many will also have 3.1% - 3.5% easy access accounts which were available a few weeks ago.

Currently, they all either require the use of an app or have restrictions on the number of withdrawals. My phone will probably lose its security updates in the summer, so apps are a no go for me.

Fair enough, people who can't or won't do apps are putting themselves at a disadvantage. Nonetheless, I see no reason for settling on 2.8%.

The 3.1% Skipton Tracker doesn't require an app and has unlimited withdrawals, though those who missed out on the previous issue can now only get 2.9% (possibly automatically going to 3.4% if we get another base rate hike). The PO doesn't require an app either, AFAIK, though personally I wouldn't touch them. Saffron, Secure Trust Bank, Ford Money, Cynergy etc all can be operated online and pay more than 2.8%.
