TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Absolute Radio – February Competition 2023” (the “Competition”). These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

1.Entry ROUTES and Costs	Online at https://planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio/ Online entry is free of charge. Entries are restricted to one entry per person.
2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN	In order to be eligible to win, entrants must go online to absoluteradio.co.uk and tell us the following details:   Full name and contact details They must give a description of their home, highlight it’s faults and what they would like to repair/rejuvenate if they won £10,000 worth of gift cards for Wickes. This description should be given in the style of a TV estate agent.   Entries will be judged on how entertaining, compelling, heart-warming and how deserving the entry is. All entries will be judged by the Dave Berry production team, the production manager and an independent judge. We will be shortlisting entries from the open of the competition on the 15/02/2023 at 00.01 until the close of the competition online entry period on 22/02/2023 at 09:30. On shortlisting, we will require the nominators to coherently explain their entry. The entry must be compelling and match the entry that was entered online. The nominators will need to explain in detail the reason why they deserve £10,000 Wickes Gift-card. On being called during the entry period does not mean that the entrant has won, and they will only win on being told they are the winner* by the production team on 24/02/2023.  On being bought to air as a finalist** from 20/02/2023- 22/02/2023 does not equate to the finalist being the final winner, there will be one winner that will be selected from the finalists and this will be awarded on-air on 24/02/2023. All nominators will be called ahead the competition segment being recorded.  If the chosen finalist is unavailable when we come to call them a competition record date, a backup finalist will be chosen in their place and the original finalist may miss out on winning.   The 1st finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 17/02/2023   The 2nd finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 20/02/2023   The 3rd finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 21/02/2023   The 4th finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 22/02/2023   Each day from Monday 20th February until Thursday 23rd February the finalist’s segment will be played as live/ or as live if pre-recorded on-air during the Absolute Radio Breakfast show. On Friday 24th February a winner will be selected from the 4 finalists and awarded the winner’s prize on-air. *The winner is the person who is announced as the final winner by the breakfast team on-air on 24/02/2023. This person will be selected from the four finalists who will be bought to-air from 20/02/2023 – 23/02/2023. **The finalists are the persons who are bought to-air from 20/02/2023 – 23/02/2023
3. ENTRY PERIOD	Start Date and End Date. Pre-registration: from 15/02/2023 at 00.01 (Start Date) to 22/02/2022 at 12:00 (End Date). The on-air portions of this comp will take place each day from 20/02/2023 until 23/02/2023, between 6am and 10am. The finalists will be given information of when the exact timings will be ahead of being brought to air. The winner of the competition will be announced on-air on 24/02/2023 during the breakfast show.   Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid. Winner Announcement. The name and the hometown of the winner(s) (s) will be announced on the Dave Berry Breakfast Show 24/02/2023 between 6am and 10am.
4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS	Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. Both the Nominator and the Nominee must be 18 years or over on the date of entry Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Specific Terms. If you or any other person at your household has won a prize valued at £500 or more on any Bauer brand in the past 6 months, you nor they are not eligible to enter or win this competition. 5. THE PRIZE	The following prizes will be awarded during the competition: Winner prize* The winner of the competition will win a gift-card worth a total of £10,000 (this will be awarded in 4 x £2,500 gift-cards) which will be awarded on-air on 24/02/2023 during the breakfast show to spend towards a Wickes Kitchen. If there are any costs over and above that of £10,000 Wickes Gift-card these must be covered by the winner. The winner will not be compensated for any additional costs. The prize must be redeemed within a year of the date of winning. The Prize is provided by Wickes, and we are not responsible for any aspect of the Prize, including unsatisfactory quality or late delivery.

 

 OTHER CONDITIONS

1.      DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize.  Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. 2.      INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

3. MISCELLANEOUS.

a. Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them.

b. Entrants may not enter more than once.

c. If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject.

d. We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.

e. You are responsible for all costs of entry.

f. You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners.

g. Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements.

h. As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition / the Prize.

i. We may cancel / amend / end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.
