Google maps measure distance tool - Font to small

I quite often use the Measure distance tool on google maps . Just recently the measuring line and Font has become so thin/small i cant read the measurement . The font for places/locations etc is ok just for the tool is to small

any ideas

Hi,

try using Ctrl key and + key, or Ctrl and mouse wheel, to zoom in.

Edit: you can zoom in on map just using mouse wheel, or use the + icon bottom right.

You're right - the distances are so minute they're almost impossible to resolve. Zooming the map does not increase the size of the distance readings shown on each stage of the path, though it does change the size of everything else on the map.
There is a path tool in Google Earth which is better (under Ruler|Path). If you use the option to show the elevation profile, you can not only see how the land rises and falls but move along the path seeing the distances of all the plot points.

CTRL + works because that increases the entire browser zoom, not the map zoom. I need to go to about 300% for it to be clearly readable.

If you only have one routing point then there should be a text box at the foot of the window that shows the same info, but you'll need to zoom to view the distances for intermediate points.

It's very clearly a Google issue not a browser issue.

I have been using these suggestions as a work around but not ideal .

Have you tried using the daft logics version?

That problem is very recent.  I was using the measuring tool in the last month and had no problem. I see things the same as the OP now.

An alternative might be to use the OS site https://explore.osmaps.com and click Create Route. On the left you can click All Waypoints to see each section length
